You can also hop on the AC Transit #25 to get to the El Ceritto or Berkeley BART stations. There are numerous lines that run up and down San Pablo Avenue, north to Albany, El Cerrito, and Richmond; south towards Berkeley and Oakland.

The Neighborhood Feel of Westbrae

The Westbrae neighborhood is great for walking. In addition, the nearby Ohlone Greenway cycling and pedestrian path runs through the area, connecting Westbrae community to the North Berkeley BART station as well as linking Berkeley to Albany, El Cerrito, and Richmond.

Westbrae residents enjoy the variety of healthy markets and sporting stores that have been cropping up along the bustling thoroughfares. In addition to Berkeley Natural Grocery, a small organic produce market, there are bakeries, Thai restaurants and even Lalime’s, a destination restaurant specializing in sophisticated California/Mediterranean cuisine.  Residents and visitors alike make the trek to the REI on Gilman, as well as the collection of specialty outlets and warehouses for outdoor gear, clothing, antiques, and the sprawling Pyramid Brewery and Restaurant.  The nearby Cedar-Rose Park, developed from a section of the old Santa Fe Railroad, offers recreational space for children of all ages. There are volleyball, basketball, and tennis courts; a soccer field, picnic areas, and an amphitheater.
